Pujya Param Aanand Ji

Four decades on one idea — the body knows how to heal; it only needs the chance.

What he teaches

“Become your own doctor” returns in every discourse, and is usually misunderstood. It does not mean leaving your doctor. It means learning to recognise your own body’s signals, because nobody else can hold that information.

“Food itself is the medicine” — a decision taken three times a day acts on the body longer than any prescription. His whole work is putting that one sentence into practice.

“The body is our temple” — until that way of seeing arrives, no list of rules holds.

How he runs a camp

He runs a routine rather than delivering sermons. For seven days everyone keeps the same hours, the same food and the same sequence, and on the sixth day sees the difference in their own readings.

He does not take anyone off their medication. A doctor consultation is held on day six and the decision after it belongs to the participant and their own doctor. It is the caution he repeats most.
